I've been told that I'm on the reserve list for the candidate interviews on Saturday.
That gives us one last opportunity to put something very important out there, for broader discussion. We were hoping to run it as a guest piece on a surprise major campaign website yesterday, but the host site has had some technoproblems! Rather than wait, we'll also post the piece here and now.
This paper is the result of extensive and frank conversations with police officers and other members of the law enforcement community. It would be a shame if it went by the wayside, so regardless of my uncertain candidate status, I'm posting it for consumption today. I hope it encourages debate and awareness.

It's great that Boris Johnson is now finally on board ship. It will clearly add renewed interest and vigour to the process.
But of course London Government is about ideas too. Some of us candidates have very radical views of where the GLA should be going.
Here's a short joint letter that's in today's Standard, co-signed by myself and another campaigner for small government, Simon Fawthrop.
Our message is simply this: London voters should be allowed a real choice. That includes paring back or binning the GLA on which so many of your taxes are frittered.
